Eclipse 4.3 Kepler is out

Last week, the new version of Eclipse was released. That was an opportunity for me to update from the Juno version (4.2) that I was using. I use Eclipse on my little side projects, and when contributing to PCGen.

I’ve read the help page presenting the new features and what I am most interested about is the performance changes. I use a four and a half year old laptop and Eclipse is sometime pushing it to the limit, especially when other programs are also running.

Their is various interface features that seems interesting, but I’m not sure I’ll use them. Some Java ones seems useful, like the one that detects unused type in class. It is not a problem that happens regularly but it is nice to know it will be found without having to run FindBugs or PMD.
